World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. It is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. On 4th March 2021, children of all ages will come together to share the joy of reading for pleasure.

Chinese New Year, also referred to as the Lunar New Year, is the Chinese Festival celebrating the new year on the traditional Chinese/Gregorian calendar. It’s a major holiday in Greater China and is celebrated in several countries. Here at 2Simple, we celebrate Chinese New Year using Purple Mash, with a huge variety of resources and activities to use in your classroom to ensure your pupils learn about the importance of this festival for many cultures across the world. This year the festival will be celebrated on Saturday, 25th January.

This year, we had over 13,000 entries into our Festive Card Competition that ran throughout November.
We were overjoyed to see the range of creative talent and skill demonstrated by all the entering pupils and it was extremely hard to whittle the entries down.
